I am a huge film fan and so I was keen to see what this horror movie-themed online slot machine has to offer. I thoroughly test all slot machines before completing our review. Here are some criteria and important things I consider in my review:

Magic Graveyard Bonus
There are bonus symbols, which appear as the word bonus written on a gravestone. They only appear on reels one, two, and five. If you land one on all three, you unlock the bonus round which is, all but in name, a pick’em bonus round. This big red matinee ticket appears as if from nowhere with an ethereal green glow, but only on reels three, four, and five. Land all three to activate the free spins feature known as sticky stacks. These are wild symbols that can both be sticky and can stack. Once you enter the feature, you will be encouraged to choose a monster symbol, which will serve as the sticky stack symbol. If it appears during free spins it will remain for the rest of the free spins and the wins from them can be stacked.

These are not the most remarkable features included, but the magic graveyard bonus does serve as something of a carrot on the end of a stick (although in this case, the prize is reachable). It is a slot machine which I would recommend to a player who prefers a simpler game, or one who doesn’t want elaborate and numerous features. The two special symbols are worth looking out for and you will be hoping you land three of them. But even if this is achieved the free spins feature is not abundant with rewards.

Midnight Matinee uses a very simple layout effectively.
As a huge film fan, I was very excited by the theme of this slot game. Initially, I was a little disappointed as it looks very plain, but on further inspection, I can see little extra details which bring it to life. The background is a field at night, but with the imposing signs of life as small red eyes shine from the darkness. The normal card symbols are brightly colored so they pop out, but they also have little extra additions. I like the way the ace symbol serves as a full moon and the nine symbols have spiders crawling over it. The standouts are the expanded wilds, though, which are made up of famous movie monsters. They’ve been designed skillfully as real cartoon caricatures brought to life by animation when they fill the reel and are part of the win. The organ-style music only plays during a spin and it fits in well with the theme.
Solutions if you have some issues with a game
If an issue occurs which interrupts your gameplay, you will find you can replay the previous bet that was made and any bets which were not taken into account will have been designated void and refunded. This will unfortunately also apply to winnings, as they will be declared void and you can play the round again.
Verdict
This nod to classic horror cinema, and the monsters which brought it to life, is a well-designed slot machine, and using recognizable characters is likely to attract more potential players. It is definitely one for customers who aren’t looking for overly complicated features and more for the plug and play types. Its simple yet effective design and simple features allow for a pleasantly enjoyable online slot machine experience.
