Michigan Online Casino Revenue Decreases in April 2023

Online casinos and sports betting sites saw a decline of 9.6% in revenue for April 2023 compared to last month.

It’s not an unexpected decrease, as other American states have also seen a drop in revenue for April 2023 compared to March, including New Jersey and Pennsylvania. 

Sportsbooks and online casinos in Michigan reported $195.7 million in April 2023, consisting of $159.4 million for online casinos and $36.3 million generated by online sports betting. In March 2023, online casinos generated $171.8 million and bookies a total of $44.6 million for a grand total of $216.4 million. 

How April 2023 Compares to April 2022 

While the figures might be down compared to last month, the year-on-year totals tell a positive story. 

Michigan online casinos are certainly on the rise compared to last year. Revenue totals have increased by 20.2% compared to April 2022, during which casinos generated $132.4 million.

As with online casinos in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, Michigan set a new record-high in March 2023, exceeding $160 million for the first time. The total generated in April 2023 currently stands as the second-highest revenue total, making it an excellent achievement for online casinos in the state.
